Saskatoon Berry Pierogies
Ingredients

Pierogi Dough

4 ½ cups Frozen Saskatoon Berries or Blueberries

½ cup Sugar

½ cup Flour

¼ cup Butter
-
2 ½ cups Milk

1 tsp. Salt
Directions

Into a saucepan melt butter and stir in flour – add milk 1 cup at a time, whisking until thickened – stir in salt – remove heat and set sauce aside

Combine berries, sugar, flour into mixing bowl

Onto a floured surface roll pierogi dough thinly, cut into 3” circles

Scoop 2tsp of berries into pierogi dough – pinch and crimp edges of pierogi dough closed

Boil pierogies 5mins until they float – garnish with berry sauce

Can be stored in freezer bags for several months
