Spiced Steak Tacos with Blackberry Pear Slaw

1/4 cup + 1 tsp. Sugar

1 tsp. Cinnamon

4 Crushed Allspice Berries

1/4 tsp. Nutmeg

1/2 tsp. Garlic Powder

1/2 tsp. Crushed Red Pepper

1 tbsp. Brown Sugar

1 1/2 tsp. Salt

1lb. Skirt Steak

1/2 Butter Stick
-
3 Sage Leaves
-
1/4 cup Malbec Red Wine

1/4 cup Olive Oil
-
1 tbsp. Chives
-
1 1/2 cup Red Cabbage

1 cup Radicchio
-
1 pint of Blackberries

1 Bartlett Pear

1/4 Red Onion

8 Corn Tortillas

Blue Cheese Crumbles
Directions

Mix pomegranate juice, ¼ cup sugar, ½ lime juice together into pot over medium-high heat, stir occasionally until sugar is dissolved – Reduce heat to medium-low until mixture is reduced by half for 30mins. – Let cool

Mix cinnamon, allspice berries, nutmeg, garlic powder, crushed red pepper, brown sugar, salt together into mixing bowl – Rub over both sides of skirt steak

Melt butter into skillet – Add sage leaves, cook for 3mins over low heat – Brush skirt steak with sage butter

Heat skillet over medium-high heat, cook skirt steak on each side for 3-4mins – Let cool for 5mins.

Mix malbec wine, ½ lime juice, olive oil, sugar, chives together into mixing bowl

Mix red cabbage, radicchio, blackberries, bartlett pear, red onion together into separate mixing bowl – Mix vinaigrette, slaw together into mixing bowl

Slice skirt steak against the grain – Warm tortillas – Garnish with blue cheese crumbles, pomegranate syrup
